Our client is a major player in logistics and freight forwarding. They are currently in need of a 1st Line IT Support Specialist.
Job Title: IT Support Specialist
The candidate will be required to monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks. He/She will install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a similar role and must possess advanced IT Support skills.
Deploy PCs and associated peripherals including new installations and the redeployment of existing equipment.
Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications.
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
Talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults.
Replacing parts as required.
Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
A good bachelor’s degree in Sciences/Engineering or any IT related fields.
2-3 years post NYSC working experience in a reputable firm
Excellent knowledge of DELL and HP Hardwares
Proficiency in MS Office suite, Internet technologies, Windows 7/XP/Vista, Anti-virus apps, Windows 200X Server, DHCP, DNS, Enterprise Service Desk.
Knowledge of Cisco Networks
Relevant Microsoft Certification a plus
